DSISD SUPERINTENDENT RESIGNS

"Dr Mard Herrick has announced his resignation as Superintendent of Schools for the Dripping Springs Independent School District. An agreement has been reached which allows Dr. Herrick the ability to pursue other interests and permits the Board of Trustees to pursue hiring another Superintendent. The Board and Dr. Herrick have entered into the Agreement believing it is in their respective best interests and in the best interests of the District."

As reported on DS Babble and KXAN News

UPDATE: Dr Herrick's resignation is effective December 31, 2011 and was announced shortly after the school board voted to ask for a 9 percent increase in property taxes, intended to offset reductions in state contributions, and a multi-million dollar bond to shift expenses from the maintenance and operating budget to the construction budget.
